Squeegee
Click on image to see larger version.
We all have had to make a tool that is needed for a special
job. The floor squeegee is one of those necessary shop tools that we all
use but just hate to shell out the $60 or so that it takes to buy
one. After a few uses the blade wears out or does not clean well and you
have to spend a bundle to buy a replacement blade. So you make do with a poor
working squeegee. . Here is a squeegee that is cheap, works well, and you can
make it yourself to fit any type of job and make it as small or big as you want,
you can replace the blade cheaply and use it in all types of weather.
The squeegee is made from two pieces of aluminum with common 3" black
garden edging sandwiched between the two pieces of aluminum. There are 4
small bolts that go through the two pieces of metal to hold them together.
The thin side side is down and that is what forms the edge. You can see
from the pictures that it will even clean dirty surfaces very well. The
cement pictured was cleaned from only one pass and there was small rock and dirt
in the water. The total cost for this project was $3.12 USD for 12 feet of
edging. The remainder of the parts were from the scrap
pile.
Thank You Shirley for inventing and sharing this tool tip.
