IBDOZING was started as a hobby with the purpose of  restoring, repairing  and using forgotten, old construction equipment.  In the process, I have been collecting and restoring IH and Allis Chalmers equipment.  Restoring the equipment has led  me on a very far and wide ranging search for parts and  help.   This lead to becoming interested in helping others in restoring  their old equipment and to keep a bit of history running.  So as the story would go, I created this website to help others.  I have branched out to help others find parts through the parts hunter service, how to fix things, help fix them, broker parts, find  equipment, post other peoples projects and what ever else happens.

How this got all started for a college educated kid with way too many degrees that now lives in Elkhorn, NE  is a long story.  All I can say,  I really love working with my hands, getting dirty and have met many  good solid people long the way.  I all of credit in this venture to my father-in-law, Red,  for without his1947 IH TD9, that I saw him driving that fateful first day I met him in 1983,  IBDOZING would never ever have gotten started and I would not be doing any work on the equipment.  His patience, common sense  have been very important in this whole process.  I also must thank my wife, Kandace.  She has put with my often late nights not being home for the equipment is 75 miles away on the farm.

I have given her my first two dozers: the HD9 Allis Chalmers and an IH loader.   I have told her when she is 10 she can drive them on her own.   She has a lot of fun working with me on the equipment and being with her dad.  Also  Important, was that in a kindergarten class of almost all boys, she could honestly say that she owns two bulldozers and I would bring in parts for her to show and tell in school.
